As you said to me when you showed it to me, the fact that the people to the left are missing their faces is distracting, but then again, it makes it more personal for the woman and the child, as though you're showing their thoughts, and their battle.

Also, I don't get why so many people seem to have a problem with you using Manual, Manual is the way to go, Personally. :)

 communism.

What settings/mode thing (P, Av, Tv, M, greenbox) etc do you usually use on your 20D? I tend to use P but all my shots come out underexposed or overexposed, the exposure here is spot on.

Great shot, really shows what the camera can do when used correctly!

I always shoot in manual, I don't even know how to use P. I tried to use aperture priority on my cam once yesterday, but it was underexposed. I don't know how to use exposure compensation on my camera yet, haha. I always shoot in manual (M).

I've been using aperture priority lately to wack the aperture to about 3.2 tops so i can hand-hold/shoot from the waist while moving to try to get some sneaky shots but it does tend to underexpose. I think I need to use M only, my shots are getting screwed up lately and I want to be able to narrow it down to user error only and nothing to do with the camera, atm i'm not so sure i'm the sole point of error.

Hmm, you can do candid shots with M, unless the sun is coming in and out of clouds, that really is a bitch. But otherwise, just use a high ISO and faster shutter speed

P = Auto with extra options. You set it to P and then don't have to do shit.

I know what it is, just not how to use it properly ;)

I have no interest in P anyway, it's crap. M is king.

Manual is king time permitting, in the studio, or when I get out my light meter. Otherwise...Av w/ +1/3-2/3 exposure compensation. Course shot in raw in case it's a little off.

Dude, you don't need to use it 'properly'...you just stick it on it and forget. It's lazy.

I use A-DEP, M, TV and AV

I know what A-DEP is, but what does it have over M? I can set the DOF myself

Just depends on circumstances - sometimes it's quicker with one or the other. M is the preferred weapon of choice when I've got the time to sort it right.
