I used to hate photos of flowers.

First shot with the new macro lens!

Ahaha ... the first thing I thought when I saw a flower macro in your spot of my devWatch was "WTF, he hates flower photos!" :P

Really looks good, though ... very fine level of detail. Good use of negative space, too ... contrasting, but not overdone.

james - i used to hate photos of flowers too - but then when i started trying to shoot them i began to appreciate how feckin hard it is to get a decent shot!

gorgeous colour and detail - but perhaps may have been slightly improved by having the front petals rather than the back ones more in focus.

nice nice!

ooh - macro is SO fun with flowers - b/c its like looking through a microscope - sometimes I don't even really SEE what I see until the image is on the PC at full view! :excited:

anyway - gorgeous detail and i love the tiny pits of yellow stuff

!

A flower. From you.

And a pretty one. I'm liking the focus. Somehow I'd wish for the background to be something other than white. Black would tie it all together with the centre of the flower. Anyways, vevy pwetty. :aww:

It's pretty good for someone who hates flower shots - would like to see more detail in the centre though.

I did too, but lately thats all I've been shooting [or attempting to do so]

My theory is to be a good photographer you must be able to photograph anything well, and you did so fabulously. :+fav:
[the first time in a long time that I have :+fav:ed a flower photo.]

Its gorgeous.. I love flower shots and the weird thing is that i usually prefer soft and more "smooth" photos. This shot seems very sharp and with an intense contrast at first, but looking at it in full view I can see how well the blur and sharpness 'play'.. I like the croping and the thin frame is a great choice as it doesn't take away from the shot..

What I love more about this shot is the title..I dont know if its random ot if it has some sort of meaning for you, but since I connect orange with bad things it really got my attention.

Excellent job, hun :]

It's not even the flowers themselves! It's just I have seen a mass of flower photos that have should have never seen the light of day, and it put me off all flowers completely, even ones looking at, like your gallery ;)
